Neck Pain

Neck pain is intimately connected to the use of the shoulders and therefore to the use of the entire arm. Some people have carried their stress in their neck/shoulder area for years. Others find that their neck pain seems to begin with a trauma like a motor vehicle accident or other specific event.

Either way, the problem most often began years before. Here is why… in our modern society we develop strong arms, limited flexibility at the shoulder and weakness in our shoulder blade region. This combination of weakness at the core and strength in the hands and arms commonly results in neck dysfunction.

At the same time, neck dysfunction can result in shoulder and/or arm pain. Every person with neck pain has their own individual movement pattern that contributes to his or her pain and therefore needs a specific program tailored to his or her needs.

“Amy is an outstanding practitioner. She considers not only your point of injury but how that affects everything in your body and your postural alignment. She understands things that other physical therapists I have seen do not. The most important thing is that she provides you with an avenue to strengthen your body and improve yourself along with the care she provides.”
